March 12, 2004 update : B'nai Brith Canada reports in its annual “audit” of anti-Semitic incidents that a “small minority” of angry young Arabs and Muslims are behind a rising number of incidents, reports the Montreal Gazette today . B'nai Brith's League for Human Rights took the unprecedented step of naming Arabs and Muslims generally as perpetrators of incidents. “We've been able to identify 30 probable Arab perpetrators of anti-Semitic incidents in Canada in 2003,” said Stephen Scheinberg, a Concordia University history professor who is the League's national chairperson.

7. That Shamim A. Siddiqi reads Commentary is excellent news. But he does not, I fear, read it very closely. Nowhere in my article did I say the many things he ascribes to me-not about the Jewish community being “the sole proprietors” of the United States, not about non-Jews being “goyim,” much less about non-Jews having “no right to exist on this earth.” These colorful notions suggest that Mr. Siddiqi, whatever his strengths as a strategist of militant Islam's ascension to power, is not much of an analyst of American politics.

They provided labor, engaged in commerce, sold land, sold arms, handed over state assets, provided intelligence about enemy forces, spread rumors and dissension, convinced fellow Palestinians to surrender, fought the Yishuv's enemies, and even operated behind enemy lines. So great was their cumulative assistance, one wonders if the State of Israel could have come into existence without their contribution.
